HAMPTON TOWNSHIP, NJ (Sussex County) – Wayback Burgers of Newton will host a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, February 27, to officially open its newest location at 17 Hampton House Road, Space 15 C-1, Newton, NJ 07860.
The event will celebrate the franchise’s arrival in the community and will feature special appearances from local police, fire and EMS departments.
The ceremony will kick off at 2:00 p.m. and will be followed by a Touch-A-Truck Experience from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Guests will have the opportunity to explore emergency vehicles, take photos, learn about the equipment, and interact with the dedicated first responders who serve the community.
In attendance will be local franchise owners Wahab and Laila Abbasi, along with Timothy Dooley, Mayor of Hampton Township, Helen Le Frois, Mayor of Newton, Tammie Horsfield, President of Sussex County Chamber of Commerce, and members of the Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce.
The new Wayback Burgers location marks the Abbasis’ first franchise venture. Long-time residents of Sussex County, the Abbasis are passionate about giving back to their community. Laila co-leads the PTA at their children’s school, and both are actively involved in various local organizations. The couple was inspired to bring a family-friendly restaurant to Newton where families could come together and enjoy delicious food in a welcoming environment.
Guests are encouraged to try the Abbasis’ favorite menu items, including the Double Bacon Burger, the Cheeeesy, and the Chocolate Brownie Shake.
