Wayback Burgers recently hosted a national fundraiser with its nonprofit partner, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), and is seeking votes for its milkshake contest.
The contest was announced on March 26, the day of the most-recent BGCA fundraiser, in which Wayback Burgers and its guests raised $15,685.79 for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. With the contest, Boys & Girls Club members across the country were encouraged to submit their own milkshake recipes.
Now that all flavors have been submitted, Wayback Burgers has narrowed them down and decided on semi-finalist milkshake flavor winners.
The semi-finalist shake flavors and corresponding clubs are:
- Boys & Girls Club of Chester (in Florida) – Campfire Dream
- Caring People Alliance at R.W. Brown Community Center (in Pennsylvania) – Caramel Cinnamon Toast Crunch
- Chapman Boys & Girls Clubs (in Pennsylvania) – Key Lime Pie
“We are very proud to be partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of America,” says John Eucalitto, CEO of Wayback Burgers. “This shake contest has been very exciting, and we are happy to support an organization that is working hard to reach out and help our nation’s children excel in school and in life. So, go vote for your favorite flavor!”
All three new and exciting flavors are featured on Wayback Burgers’ website, and guests can vote for which shake they most want to try. Wayback Burgers’ milkshakes are made the old-fashioned way: by hand, using only milk and hand-dipped ice cream.
Wayback Burgers will announce the winning flavor on May 15, and the winning club will be awarded a $5,000 prize. The restaurant will then debut the winning milkshake flavor as a limited-time offer in August.
Wayback Burgers has pledged to raise at least $100,000 for the BGCA within the first year of their partnership. With a grand total of $123,845.35 raised thus far, Wayback Burgers has already exceeded that minimum number and hopes to break $150,000 by June 30, 2019. In just the first quarter of 2019 alone, Wayback Burgers raised $51,256.79.
“After school programs at Boys & Girls Clubs of America make a real difference in the lives of so many children across the country,” says Patrick Conlin, Senior Vice President of Wayback Burgers. “Through our partnership with this amazing organization, we are helping to ensure they have the resources they need to have a successful school year. Every day, the Boys & Girls Clubs help prepare today’s youth for a great future, and that’s a wonderful thing.”
