Wayback Burgers — the quick-service chain with around 150 locations nationwide — recently opened its first store in New York City.
Founded 25 years ago in Newark, Del., Wayback Burgers uses retro nostalgia for a “good old-fashioned burger” to stand out in the crowded burger segment.
Senior Editor Joanna Fantozzi recently visited the first franchised New York Wayback Burgers, located near Penn Station, and tried two of the brand’s classic cheeseburgers made with an unexpected, toasted upside-down top bun, as well as a brownie shake, one of Wayback’s popular handspun milkshakes.
