Today is National Burger Day (May 28), and to help Americans get into the spirit, Newsweekhas pulled together deals from well-known chains and restaurants.
National Burger Day Deals
Zac’s Burgers: To celebrate National Hamburger Day, on May 28, Zac’s is giving away free burgers. First responders and active military who sign up with Zac’s Rewards Program receive buy-one-get-one-free burgers and the first 10 will receive a free burger.
Wayback Burgers: On May 28, customers get a signature burger for $3, which is National Burger Day.
Huey Burger: Like last year, the burger chain is offering diners the chance to find a gold star in their burger to win their meal for free. All nine locations will be participating.
Burger King: Grab an old Burger King receipt or eat out there again to get a new one, then take the online feedback survey in exchange for a free Whopper coupon on May 28.
The Usual: Soho-based restaurant from famed chef Alvin Cailan has launched Burger Happy Hour just in time for National Hamburger Day. After 10:00 p.m, guests can get burgers as well as 50 percent off bottles of wine to pair with them.
Umami Burger: The food company has partnered with St. Vincent Meals on Wheels to celebrate the national holiday. On May 28, $1 from each Truffle Burger sold across all locations nationwide back to Meals on Wheels to help those in need.
MUTTS Canine Cantina: On National Burger Day, from 12:00 – 8:00 p.m., MUTTS Canine Cantina in Dallas and Fort Worth is celebrating by offering each guest a free MUTTS Burger. If you have a furry friend joining you, you can treat them as well because MUTTS has doggie delicacies including the “Pupsicle” with frozen beef broth, organic peanut burger, and an edible bone, or the Doggie Dog, a perfectly portioned bite-sized 100 percent beef frank.

Bokamper’s Sports Bar & Grill: At locations Fort Lauderdale, Plantation, Miramar, Naples and Estero, Florida, Bokampers is offering the Bokamper’s hand-crafted burger (normally $13.99) for only $5.99 on Tuesday, May 28.
House of Blues Dallas: Starting May 26 until June 2, you can get burgers with fries for only $5, or a burger and beer combo for $10.
Where To Buy Vegan Burgers On National Burger Day
While many might think that this day isn’t suitable for vegans and vegetarians, many burger chains and restaurants now offer options for their environmentally-conscious, animal loving customers. Animal rights organization, PETA, has provided some helpful tips on where these mouth-watering gems can be found.
Burgerlords: Located in Los Angeles, the restaurant’s double vegan cheeseburger is made in-house. The patty is made from mushrooms, eggplants, cashews, barley, garbanzo beans, celery, leeks and its top-secret spice blend.
Arlo’s: With a patty that is soy- and gluten-free, the restaurant has taken its vegan burger to the streets of Austin, Texas. Its Bac’n Cheezburger includes house-made seitan bacon and dairy-free cheese.
