Wayback Burgers to offer fresh burgers, hand-dipped shakes at new Broadview Heights location

After finding success with his More-4-Less convenience stores in Broadview Heights and Brecksville, Pat Patel last year was thinking about expanding his business offerings in the area.

“We’re already in Broadview Heights and know a lot of the customers because they come to our More-4-Less stores located on Royalton and Broadview roads, Broadview and Wallings roads, and Brecksville and Fitzwater roads,” Patel said.

Specifically, the Broadview Heights resident was looking to open something food-related, with the only criteria being it had to be one of the top-growing franchises in the country.

What Patel found was Wayback Burgers, which serves fresh, hand-made burgers and hand-dipped milkshakes, with additional menu items including salads, sandwiches and sides. The new store is set to open in early July at 4223 E. Royalton Road in Broadview Heights.

“Wayback Burgers is like real food, not like fast-food sitting in a warmer all day,” Patel said. “It’s called fast-casual. A lot of people mistake it as a fast-food joint, but it’s not, because everything is made from when they order it. Also, we use beef that is never frozen. So it’s fresh. It’s quality food. It’s not a 99-cent burger.”

Broadview Heights Mayor Sam Alai sees a bacon cheeseburger in his future.

“I’m looking forward to the grand opening of Wayback Burgers,” Alai said. “We’re proud to help introduce their new business to the community.”

The Broadview Heights location is the second in Northeast Ohio, with Patel recently also taking over the Wadsworth store.

Founded in 1991, Connecticut-based Wayback Burgers currently operates in 24 states with over 100 locations nationally. There are also plans to open in 28 countries through the Middle East and Northern Africa, in addition to expansion plans in Argentina, Canada, Mexico and Pakistan.

The owner added Wayback Burgers is a perfect fit for Broadview Heights.

“The Royalton Road and I-77 area is growing right now with the street widening and all of the other restaurants,” Patel said. “We’re excited about our location in the new plaza.”
