Gwinnett restaurant giving free food to those unemployed due to coronavirus

A Lawrenceville burger joint is giving free food this week to people who’ve lost their jobs because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Wayback Burgers will serve a free burger and fries to people recently laid off or furloughed because their workplaces closed. Each day from April 20 to April 24, the restaurant will cater to a specific sector.

Retail employees can get the free meal on April 20. Those who worked in hotels are eligible on April 21, and hair stylists and barbers can get a meal on April 22. Nail technicians are eligible on April 23 and spa employees and massage therapists are eligible April 24.Those who wish to get the meal can pick it up between 2 and 4 p.m. on the day they’re eligible. The restaurant is located at 1030 Old Peachtree Rd. NW in Lawrenceville.Those who wish to help Wayback Burgers support its unemployed neighbors can donate to its Wayback Gives Back fund by adding money to an online order, buying a gift card or donating via cash or check.
